    FAQ's

It is a unique academic pathway where students study part of their course (3 years) at HITAM (India) and complete the final year followed by one more year to get MS at a partner university in the USA, leading to a globally recognized bachelors and masters degree in just 5 years total. Twinning because students study in India as well as abroad. Integrated because the curriculum is designed to integrate the bachelors with the masters, thereby saving one year (normally 4 + 2 to get BTech and MS).

HITAM has partnered with reputed US universities

    • University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama, USA
    • Milwaukee School of Engineering, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
    • George Mason University, Virginia, USA (near Washington DC)
Students are admitted directly into the pipeline, i.e. no separate GRE score is necessary. All efforts will be made to have a smooth transition, including having orientation in between years 2 and 3, rather than after students go abroad, making sure that the academic standards at HITAM meet those of the partner universities, and putting in place student and faculty exchange programs.

To be eligible for the Integrated Twinning Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Academic Background: Completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects.
    • Preferred Academic Performance: A preferred score of above 70% in the 10+2 examination.
    • Entrance Examination Scores: A preferred score of above 70% in any of the following entrance examinations:
      • JEE Mains
      • State Common Entrance Examinations in Engineering
      • BITSAT
      • SAT

Students have the option to complete their degree fully at HITAM, based on academic policies. However, the real benefit of this program is in the integration of the two degrees and the opportunity to study abroad for a year of the undergraduate and graduate degrees. Every effort will be made to support students to avail of this unique opportunity.

Currently, no separate entrance exam is required; admission is based on academic merit in 12th grade / intermediate, score in any of the state or national competitive examinations and personal interview.
